We are
excited to be hosting your class at our farm. This will be a day
your students will remember as educational, exciting, and
hands-on. We are excited about the many changes and improvements
we will offer this year’s students, so please read this letter
thoroughly and call me (Kelly Middleton) if you have any
questions.
Our
tours offer a wide variety of farm animals in the critter
corral, hay wagons for rides to the pumpkin patch, and a pumpkin
for each student. In preparing for your tour we ask that you
emphasize farm and harvest themes and downplay Halloween.
While
your group is on the farm we want them to have a fun and
interesting time. For your students’ safety please have them
prepared to stay with their adult supervision and listen
carefully to their guides. We suggest long pants and sturdy
shoes, as the pumpkins and vines can be prickly. Thank them for
using their best manners and making sure all empty water bottles
and trash make their way to the garbage cans. We suggest
bringing markers with you to write student names on the
pumpkins.
Your
guide will meet you in the parking lot 15 minutes prior to tour
time. If you have a large group of students, we will most likely
be splitting the group into two. One group will be loaded on
the wagons first while the other will begin with our petting
farm. Students will be returned to the drop off area once the
tour is completed, buses may remain in the parking lot.
When
you are ready to book your tour date please call Middleton’s
Farm at (301) 399-9812 and ask for Kelly. At this time you will
need to provide the name of your school, classroom grade, and an
estimated number of people attending the tour. Exact number will
be due one week prior to the tour.
Thank
you for including Middleton’s Farm as part of your classrooms
educational experience. We look forward to seeing you this
Fall. If at any point you have questions or concerns, please do
not hesitate to call or email us (middletonfarm@comcast.net).
Sincerely,
The Middleton Family
