The educational field trips to Middleton's Cedar Hill Farm promote the exploration of agriculture at a real working farm. Each tour is designed to be a fun and educational, age-appropriate, hands-on learning experience, focusing on the products of a local farm.

Educational Field Trips and School Tours to Middleton's Cedar Hill Farm, Waldorf, Maryland

Your School Tour Includes:

  • Take a hayride around the farm
  • Learn about the work and products of our farm
  • Hunt for hidden spots in the maze as a team
  • Visit our farm animals including sheep, pigs, chickens, cows, and turkeys
  • Visit the pumpkin patch (seasonal) and pick your own
  • Learn about the lifecycle of pumpkins
  • Tours are approximately 2 hours

Cost: Tours are $7.50 per student or chaperone for the two hour tour and $10 for the extended day tour. School staff with ID are free of charge. (Price includes picking a small pumpkin per paid admission)

Tour Dates

"Fall Festival on the Farm" Tours are available from September 26 through October 31.
All school tours are available only on Weekdays by appointment.

Educational Field Trips and School Tours to Middleton's Cedar Hill Farm, Waldorf, Maryland Check-In: Send one person from the group to the farm store with a final head count and payment.

Lunch: Schools are welcome to use our picnic tables for a bagged lunch. Please let us know in advance so we may place straw bales around for the children to sit on.

Facilities: We have on-site bathrooms available.

Clothing: Wear comfortable shoes. It can be MUDDY, so if it has rained please have the children wear boots or old tennis shoes. Because fall weather can vary day-to-day, please encourage children to dress in layers.

Pumpkins: Bring a marker and/or bags to identify and transport pumpkins.

Rain: If it rains the day of your field trip, we will be happy to reschedule your visit. However, we can still accommodate your group in light rain.

Cancellations: If it is necessary to cancel your scheduled tour, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may fill your appointment time.

Transportation: Carpools and school buses may park in our store front and overflow lots.
